My Digital Prints in Action.......and a *new* FREEBIE!!!

Before I get to the freebie, I wanted to share with you all some examples of my custom prints in "action". ;)

I decided to have the "Family Tree" I've been working on printed to see what it looked like in "real life"....since I wasn't "feelin' it" on the screen.  To my pleasure, *I like it*!!!  I do, however, notice some minor things I would change if I were to have it printed again....such as making the outlines/detail lines on the birds thicker, and changing the font for the initials on the tree entirely.  For now, it's standing on one of the dressers in our master bedroom (I haven't found the time to actually hang it yet)....but I really like it where it's standing for now... ;)

I've got three of my customizable prints hanging in my hall bathroom right now as well....just wanted to share them with you so you could see some possibilities for displaying them.  :)

And now the new Facebook Exclusive Freebie!!!

I've made for all my new and loyal Facebook fans a collection of iPhone and BlackBerry backgrounds and computer/laptop wallpapers...in two different seasonal designs and a variety of sizes. If you don't already....please go and "like" my IBPB facebook page to be taken to a download link for the different download sizes.  :)

If anyone missed the Autumn banner that was the previous IBPB exclusive freebie, I will offer it to visitors of my blog for free for a limited time. :) :)  Click on the image below to get your banner!

As always, the freebie files are for your personal use only.  Please do not give the digital files to others...instead, please direct them to IBPB where they may download their own.  Many thanks!!!

Just One More Thing.....

Before I disappear for a week (see post below), I wanted to share with those of you who aren't on facebook a digital print I have been working on for some time now.  I've been posting "revisions" of the print on my facebook page and asking for feedback....because although I really like the idea, I didn't care much for my original result.  Based on the feedback I've gotten, I've progressively been making some changes to it.   Below is the first set of before and afters.  The picture on the left is the original...the one on the right the first revision.

And again.....the one on the right (below) is where I'm at now.  I've tweaked the tree, the birds, and the colors...Perhaps not quite there yet? But getting closer.

Any thoughts are appreciated!

See you in a week!

Outdoor Fall Decorating.....and a Project Idea!

Well....I finally had to admit defeat.  Despite the persistent 30 degree daytime temperatures throughout September, the "barely above freezing" at night wreaked havoc on my flower planters.  Begrudgingly I pulled out the flowers and stuck in some scarecrows.  Bring on fall! I can't stop it from coming.....might as well embrace it! *wink*

....and....I saw this nifty little garland idea in a Christmas magazine once-upon-a-time (can't remember which one.....).  For two Christmases now I've been planning on making one for our tree...but have never had the time or the energy at tree decorating time. ;)  I stumbled upon some Halloween scrapbook paper in my basement (K and Company from several seasons ago) and decided to make one for Halloween instead! I think I'll hang it in our front window.

I used a 2" craft circle punch and cut out several sheets of coordinating paper...then I glued two circles together on a long strand of jute string.  Easy peasy!  Get yourself a punch and make one/some of your own.  FYI.....I wouldn't have attempted this without a punch, however.....imaging cutting out all those little circles with scissor.  My hand aches just thinking about it.....groan!

Now that I see it's really not that time consuming, I think this may be the Christmas I actually get one made for the tree!

Can You Believe It?! I'm Posting!

Well, holy moly! I can't believe it has honestly been since February that I posted last on my blog! Shame on me.... I hope to do better in the future.  I seem to post *a lot* more on my facebook page https://www.facebook.com/peanutandbean  ...simply because it seems more convenient.

I revamped my sad 'ol site (a bit....it's amazing what I've forgotten how to do since Feb. *blush*!)...and I've created a freebie to share with you all to get you in the spirit of fall....which is inevitably on it's way.

The picture below is linked.  Simply click on it to be taken to my Inspired by Peanut & Bean facebook page exclusive freebie tab (left hand side of the page) and "like" my page (if you don't already) to be able to access the link for the freebie download.  :)

For those of you who are not "on" facebook...if there seems to be enough interest for the freebie, I'll eventually add the link to my blog as well.  So let me feel the love! LOL!

Ohhhh! The things you can do with this banner! I simply printed mine out, cut out the pieces, punched a hole in each of the top corners and strung them on a jute string.  Then I hung the finished banner above my back door.  (I'm sure it will  be quite happy there)  I'm sure you "scrappers" can think of great things to do with this!...print out several copies and cut out the elements and layer them with some dimensional adhesive what-nots for a 3D effect...then embellish it with some glitter and ribbon....oooooh! Why didn't *I* think of that to start with?! I just might do some of that yet. ;)  What ever you do with it, I hope you enjoy it!

If you download, please don't share the files with your friends...instead, please direct them to Inspired By Peanut & Bean where they can download one for themselves.....and, as always, please leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Retro Birds

My little Retro Birds are going to their new home tomorrow! These are 11x14" prints on canvas that are going in an "Eco/Earthy" baby girl's room.  I can't wait to see how they look on the wall!

Retro Birds

These actually match the paint in my one bathroom almost perfectly.  I think they look so peaceful....I may get them printed for myself as well.  So versatile and sweet!

I'm Back With something New!

"Cute Hoots", Family of Owls!
This one is 5"x7"....perfect for framing to hang on the wall or stand on a shelf. This one is going in our dining room. :) Contact me to have one made for yourself! Custom colors, custom names!
Our Family!
Each print will have a luster finish and be dry mounted and ready for framing.

This is an example of how the little owls can be customized. :) I think this would look super cute in a crisp white 5"x7" frame sitting on a mantle or on a shelf in a little nook.... can also be made larger to accommodate more family members as an 8"x10".  A little touch of whimsy for any room. ;)

Here is an example of a larger family's print before customization.  4 children would work this way also.

Note: Cardboard backgrounds are for computer display purposes only.  The colors you see on your screen may vary slightly from the actual print you receive....depending on your computer monitor calibration.  xoxo

Missing in Action....

I guess I've kind of been missing in action for a while with regards to this blog (so sorry)....but I *have been busy!

I've been working on some tote bags (have you noticed my Etsy link on the side of my blog?) and getting acquainted with a new printing company. I've also been working on some custom wall art for someone! I'll get them up on the blog as soon as I can.

Thank you to all who keep checking back!

New Packaging

Not too late for Valentines!!! Click HERE!

I'm waiting for some packaging for my cards to come in the mail. Of course, patience is *not* one of my virtues...so I found some other "stuff" to package what product I have currently.  I think it turned out kind of cute....and earthy...which I like

I haven't got it set up with paypal yet, but if you see anything you "like and absolutely must have" (tee hee) just let me know and I'll get the prices to you, etc.  Until then, have a look at my pretties packaged up! A photographer, I am *not*...so forgive my pictures.  I did my best in the crappy lighting of my bedroom. Ha!

Little Bears

Lovely Ellies

Peas in a Pod

These are all packages of 6 (of the same image).  The cards are 4.25"x5.5", blank inside and folded and envelopes are included.  The tags are tied with natural jute.  My favorite are the "Two Peas in a Pod"....if I may say so myself. *wink*!

Coming soon too are my cupcake cuties....still am recovering from my "unfortunate printing mishap". Yikes! All in good time....

Hard Lessons...

First......Find my Valentines Cards HERE! There's still time to get them in the mail!

Sooooo....In my haste to get some more little cards finished I learned a hard lesson today.   Actually, I learned several hard lessons. (*blush*)  I learned the importance of proper trim marks....if I really even need them in the first place.  I learned that "snap to grid" in photoshop is a royal pain in the rump. I learned when I've checked things twice and think all is well....I should check again. I learned when I know I'm rushing something, I need to chill out and step back from it. And I learned that when I say "I'm not going to turn this into a stress or an obligation etc" that I should listen to myself and mean it.

The moral of this story is I had a major self inflicted screw up with a huge order of cards....which has put me begrudgingly behind and has somewhat bruised my enthusiasm.  **big sigh**   But......hopefully by the end of this week, I'll have it somewhat sorted out and will be moving onward and upward....perhaps a little slower and more carefully than before. Ha!

Each of the little lovelies pictured below will be a little folded note card....I've decided not to put any lettering on them (like the "Thank You" I'd originally envisioned) because then one can use them for whatever strikes your fancy!

Another nudge to remind you Valentines Day is coming and some of my little note cards are still looking for a new home! *wink wink*  Find them HERE

They're all shiny and crisp and white and are waiting for a new home!  Give these little cuties to your cuties this Valentine's Day! (*wink*)

Some Sneek Peaks...and Freebie Downloads!

I finally saw my blog on a different monitor than my laptop.....! Wowsers! That's some crazy lime green! I'll have to tweak that a bit....that was *not* the look I was going for! Sorry to your eyeballs! HA! As I say, I'm learning....

Introducing to you the latest logo I've been working on.  "Flying P Stitchery" is an extension of my sister's "Flying P Wild Rags".  The P with the nifty little squiggle underneath is a reference to their family's horse brand, 'Flying P'.  Pretty cute, hey?! She's got a lot of wonderful ideas coming your way in the future.  Keep checking back...I'll keep you up to date. Please check out her group on Facebook (Flying P Wild Rags) to see the cowboy neck rags she's currently making.

AND I've finally got my Valentines to the printer! Hip Hip Hooray! I'm so excited to see the actual printed product.  I'll pick them up tomorrow and once I've got my paws on them, I'll let you know how you can get your paws on them too!! In the meantime, here's a preview of the little cuties.

Blue background is for display purposes only.  Unfolded, Double sided cards 4.25"X 5.5''

And *finally*....(thank you for reading this far!)...I have another set of freebies for my loyal followers. ;)  Blackberry, iPhone, and Desktop Wallpapers with the digi drawings of my Valentines. I hope you enjoy them!!!

So Much to Do, So Little Time...

...Isn't that the story of life?! I often tease that work and home gets in the way of my hobbies....a thought which I'm sure I'll be struck with lightning for thinking! HA!
My painting ideas stay just that...ideas.  One day when my kids are older and not so apt to want to "help", I have more ideas to finish than I will ever have time for.  This is a painting/paper piecing project I've been working on since the summer time.  I have plans for it to go somewhere in our house. (I have very little hanging on my walls, contrary to what you may expect!)  I tried to get back at it yesterday while my son was napping....of course my daughter had ideas of what I should write on it here and there with her Crayola Pip Squeak Markers...and she was cutting little pieces of paper for me that I'd catch her sticking to it in strange places with her glue stick. *Sigh*  I'm afraid I'll never get it done.  So here is a sneak peek at a work in progress.

The last digi-illustrations I posted, I'd intended to turn into Valentines.  Sadly, Valentine's Day is rapidly approaching and I haven't gotten very far.  I have to keep telling myself "there's *no* pressure" to do anything, really.  But once I get an idea in my head, it's hard for me to let it go. One day......

*And*....I've got another logo in the works...something else I'm awfully excited about! Nothing I can show you yet, keep checking back.

Thank you, everyone, for your support with my little adventure so far.  I so appreciate the feed back I've been receiving! I hope I have some really wonderful things to show you and share with you in the future!

xoxo  Leisa

A Sneek Peak!

I tend to bounce around from "thing" to "thing" when it comes to art.  Lately, my "thing" has been digital illustration. I'm so excited now that I feel I have a style and can do it right. I've been doodling up a storm.  I have so many ideas, so little time etc etc. My intention eventually is to turn some of my digital illustrations into little note cards, frame-able prints etc.  Of course, the realities of life tend to dictate my priorities *wink* so we'll see how quickly that happens.

These are some non-colored/un-papered illustrations....just the bare bones templates that can now be turned into what ever I'd like them to be.  I was so happy with how they turned out, I wanted to share them despite the fact they're technically unfinished.  First I doodled the designs then turned them into vector illustrations.  Hopefully I can get back at them soon to bring them to 'life'.  See if you can guess what 'holiday' the first note card designs will be for! (I know.....I'm sooooo not sneaky!)

So Very Exciting!!!

Eeeeeek!!! I can't believe I'm making my very first post on my *blog*. I'm somewhat embarrassed to tell you how long it took me to figure out how to get this silly thing up and running.  I didn't full appreciate how truly dumb I am when it comes to computers until I tackled a blog....or, more importantly, blog design.  I thought I'd start with a picture of my "Little Birds"...which I know you've all seen before...but I'm rather partial to the little dears.  I'm not sure how often I'll get this blog updated at first....but I hope to keep on top of it because I have lots of exciting things in store for "Peanut and Bean". (At least, they're exciting for *me*! Ha)
